Indian forum organises Quran contest for children

DOHA MALARVADI, Indian Islamic Association’s children’s wing has conducted the final round of its Quran competition.


Hundreds of children between the ages of 7 and 13 participated in the preliminary round of the competition held in 18 units in different parts of the country.



The second stage competitions were held at Hilal, Doha, Al Wakrah, Ain Khalid, Al Khor and Rayyan while the final round was held at the Indian Islamic Association hall.



There were 36 competitors representing six zones in final round. The winners placed in first, second and third placing respectively were Jassim Mohamed (Mamoura), Ridwa Qassim (Bin Omran) and Aymen Mohamed Haneef (Al Saad) in Quran recitation senior category; Fadiya MA (Mamoura), Habeeba Hidayathulla (Mesaaied) and Nabeel Abdul Salam (Hilal) in the junior category.



The overall winners were Abdulla Fahimi (Hilal), Sameeha Junaid (Ain Khalid) and Asma (Umm Ghuwailina).



Prizes were distributed by Hamad Medical Corporation’s paediatric consultant Dr Hussama al Gibali.



The competition was followed by an iftar attended by the competitors and their parents.



Malarvadi Coordinator Abdul Latheef VP welcomed the gathering while Secretary Abdul Jaleel MM proposed the vote of thanks.



Malarvadi officials Shamsudheen K, Abdul Qader, Ismail E, Siddique, Sainaba Abdul Jaleel, Souda Jabbar, Sareena Basheer, Sajida Ismail, Riya Iqbal, Faseela, Nabeela and Jassim Jabbar were involved with the organisation of the competition.
